Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Hello!! Here I am, back from the dead again. Happy Holidays btw!! I don’t know why I keep disappearing and taking breaks, but oh well I’m gonna TRY to change that in 2019. No promises though, I’m pathetic with resolutions. Genuinely and truly pathetic. ANYWAY, time for a tag! I haven’t done one in a while, so here I am doing the bookish naughty or nice, created by Jenniely’s blog!  I wasn’t officially tagged by anyone, but I’ve seen it around the blogosphere and thought the best way to wrap up the new year is by exposing my flaws to the world, so here we go!

1. Received an ARC and not reviewed it

uuuM yes. I HATE TO ADMIT IT, but i currently have about 6 or 7 ARC’s waiting to be read, AND I KNOW IT’S HORRIBLE OF ME BUT I HAVE A LOT OF OTHER WORK TOO OKAY. Don’t judge me pls I promise I’m not a bad person.

2. Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley

I don’t actually have a Netgalley account, so I’m just gonna go ahead and give myself a nice on this one.

3. Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

HHAHAHHA yes. I don’t actually use Goodreads much for reviews anymore, I mainly just use it to keep track of what I’m reading and for the reading challenge, but I have promised reviews for a couple books and have never delivered on that,,,,so,,,

4. Folded down the page of a book

Not any time recently, but I am guilty of having done this when I was a kid. I used to fold the pages for ALL my books, and that’s probably my only regret in life. But I AM pleased to say I haven’t done it for years now- now I just memorise the page numbers for books I’m reading!

5. Accidentally spilled on a book

I have actually never done this! Though I do eat and drink while I’m reading, I’m always careful to make sure none of it ever gets on the book, so yeah I’m all clear for this one!

6. DNF a book this year

I haven’t!! I usually stick to finishing books even if I’m hating them, and though I have skim read one or two books this year, there isn’t a single one I haven’t finished!

7. Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

Well I hAVE bought books based on their covers, but never with the intention of not reading them, so idk what to put on this one? I’M JUST GONNA GIVE MYSELF A NICE.

8. Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)

HAHAHA ALL. THE. TIME. That’s basically my life in a nutshell. I finished Queen of Air and Darkness- a 900 page book- in a day and a half when I really should’ve been doing my homework instead, but OH WELL I’M MANAGING LIFE WELL.

9. Skim read a book

Yep definitely. I skimmed Gorgeous by some Paul dude whose name I don’t remember, and I recently skimmed Crazy Rich Asians because I absolutely hated it and it was sosososo boring (review!to!come!soon!)

10. Completely missed your Goodreads goal

Not until this year, but suffice to say that I am on the verge of missing this year’s goal by almost! 20! books! and I am extremely upset about that!!NAUGHTY

11. Borrowed a book and not returned it

NOPE. I would HATE if someone did that to me, and since I am not a complete monster at heart, I haven’t done this to anyone either. I usually don’t even borrow books from people- I do from the library but very rarely- I tend to just buy books when I want them.

12. Broke a book buying ban

I haven’t ever put myself under a book buying ban- I don’t have the strength for that, so technically no I haven’t broken one!

13. Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about

Basically every single review of mine is me desperately reading summaries off the internet trying to recall anything about the book so I can just get up some kind of review on it.

14. Wrote in a book you were reading

NO. I know people who do that and it honestly terrifies me to my soul because WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO A BOOK. STICKY NOTES EXIST FOR A REASON HELLO.

15. Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads

No! I’m quite diligent with adding my books to Goodreads, and it gives me anxiety if I finish a book and don’t update it to Goodreads.

16. Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend

Already answered previously- nope i haven’t done this, but I have had it done to me. Whoever stole it- I would like my copy of The Girl On The Train Back, thank you very much. GIMME BACK.

17. Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book

ALL THE TIME. I don’t even feel guilty about doing it, because so many people have ruined my books that I think I’m justified to not want to lend them. But at the same time, I have an uncontrollable need to please people so I can’t straight up say no, so I end up making the weirdest excuses to get out of lending my books to people.

18. Broke the spine of someone else’s book

UM NO. I WOULD NEVER. I’m so protective about the spines of books- I kid you not, I read books by opening them just the TINIEST fraction and very carefully tilting them at the right angles so I can just barely see all the words without bending the cover or breaking the spine. What kind of monster do you think I am, I would never do something so horrendous.

19. Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged

You can’t?? Damage a hardcover?? the jackets are absolutely useless, but I don’t think it’s humanly possible to penetrate their covers, they are literally indestructible.

20. Sat on a book accidentally

I mean, not that I can remember, but considering the fact that I almost never get out of my bed, it is very likely.

Annd there we have it! I got 11 nice’s and 9 naughty’s, so I guess I just scraped a nice on the tag, but only by a whisker. I’m not going to tag anyone because I wasn’t formally tagged myself, but feel free to do it if you want!

Do you agree with my answers? Are you nice or naughty? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
